Belo Soap Review – Kojic Acid + Tranexamic Acid
I have used this soap a couple of times last year and have tried to use it again this month because a friend of mine gave me her extra belo soap because she claims that she is not “hiyang” on this soap. As I recalled, I have not experienced any negative reaction on this soap last year so I accepted it and have decided to make my review about it. So here it is.

As the label says, Belo’s Kojic + Tranexamic Soap’s active ingredients are as follows:
1: Kojic Acid is an organic compound that is proven to prevent melanin production. It is the most popular whitening agent used in Japan.
2: Tranexamic Acid is a peptide that is proven to inhibit inflammation and melanin formation. It is ideal for stubborn dark spots that do not respond to other skin lightening ingredients.

So why I have decided to try it?
Aside from the fact that I have already tried this product last year, I also remember that I do like this soap because of the smell. It suits me well. I have also done some research again and have seen several good reviews about it.

What “I LIKE” about Belo Kojic + Tranexamic Soap?
1: It is readily available at local stores here in the Philippines like Watson’s and SM Supermarkets.
2: The smell of the soap is pleasing to me.
3: The soap does not easily melt.

What “I DON’T LIKE” about Belo Kojic + Tranexamic Soap?
1: I always feel tingling sensations and a little itchiness on my skin while taking a bath with this soap. Especially on my underam and back area.
2: Redness appeared on some areas of my body which later on developed into small abrasions. In other words, it is harsh on my skin. I minimized usage to 1x a day but still, same reaction occured.
3: On my case, I got this free. But if you will buy it in the market, one (1) soap costs around P60.00 good for about 1.5 week only if you will use it 2x a day. A bit pricey for me.
4: I am afraid to try using it on my face. So I can’t give a comment on this Belo Soap as a Facial Soap.
5: It dries up my skin badly. Maybe because I used it on cold weather season? I don’t know.
6: You should flush all the soapsuds on the floor or bathtub after taking a bath because it will leave orange stains on it.

Would I recommend Belo Kojic + Tranexamic Soap?
No, I am actually disappointed with this. I don’t know if my friend happened to buy a fake Belo Kojic + Tranexamic Soap but she said that she bought this at SM Supermarket. So most likely, it is an original authentic Belo Soap. Belo might have added some ingredients on it that is harmful to my skin. I really don’t know. In addition, I would like to thank Mestiza Soap for reviving my damaged skin. It does lighten the scars at my back.
