Korean Restaurant Chicken BonChon Philippines
Last week, I got a chance to try the newly opened restaurant at SM City Lucena Ground Floor. It is called Chicken BonChon. Based on my research, BonChon means “my hometown” in korean. Chicken Bonchon is a global restaurant originated from South Korea in 2002. It also has branches in USA and some countries in Asia such as Bangkok, Jakarta, Singapore and Manila.
Enough of the history, back to the review, we are actually the first customer to enter the restaurant at around 10am when the mall had just opened. We do not have any idea on what to order, so we took some time on picking what to eat. Since me and my friend are on a reduced diet. We decided to eat Fried Chicken Thigh Spicy Flavor and Crunchy Chicken Bulgogi with Bulgogi Noodle Soup. Both dish were served with Iced Tea.
Here is the photo of Crunchy Chicken Bulgogi Ricebox with Bulgogi Noodle Soup which costs us P155.00 + P60.00 for the Add-On Noodle Soup.
Here is the photo of Fried Chicken Thigh Spicy Flavor Ricebox which costs us P99.00 only.
Both dishes are supposed to be placed in a Ricebox but since we ordered it as “Dine-in”. It was placed on plates and bowls. Make sense right? LOL. So, what can I say? Mmmm, first, if you are on a reduced diet, this restaurant will be a “YES” for you. Their food servings are a bit smaller than other fast-food chain restaurants.
How about Fried Chicken Thigh Spicy Flavor? It tastes good and it is not as crunchy as it looks. But I may say that it is soft and juicy. However, the spicy flavor is not that impressive. I love spicy foods and it does not met my expectations in terms of the “spicy” savor. Well, I think I love their iced tea. It is not that sweet.
Next is the Crunchy Chicken Bulgogi Ricebox. I liked the taste of this dish but I think the actual food served to us is a little dry than the picture on their menu list. Which is less appealing than I expected. However, it is not salty and oily which is a good thing for me.
What do I like the most? It is non other than the Bulgogi Noodle Soup. No exaggeration, but I think this noodle soup made my Chicken BonChon experience a thumbs up. The taste of this soup is unique but surprisingly delicious. It is not your everyday soup that you can buy anywhere in the Philippines. I think it was perfectly seasoned with the right herbs and spices which I actually can’t even tell what it is. So I was delighted by this soup. You should try it. It’s only P60.00 by the way.
Overall, since it is my first time to eat on this restaurant, I may say that my dining experience is good. Value for money? If you want to try something new and want to challenge your taste buds eating foreign korean savored food. Then it is a must try. I am sure this is not the last time I would visit this restaurant because I want to try their Glazed Chicken Fries. Very interesting.
WAIT! THERE'S MORE...
